• Payment information: Payment is processed entirely by Stripe. We do not store, process, or have access to your credit card number, CVV, or full card details. We receive only a transaction confirmation and the last four digits of your card for your records.

Information Generated by Your Use

• Study progress: Module completion status, time spent studying, and progress percentages.
• Quiz and exam data: Your answers, scores, and results from practice quizzes and simulation exams.
• AI Tutor interactions: Questions you ask the AI Tutor and the responses generated (see Section 3 for details).

Information Collected Automatically

• Device and browser information: Browser type, operating system, screen resolution.
• Usage data: Pages visited, features used, time of access.
• IP address: Used for security and general geographic analytics (not precise location tracking).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

• Deliver the service: Provide access to study modules, quizzes, simulation exams, and the AI Tutor.
• Track your progress: Save your study progress, quiz scores, and module completion so you can pick up where you left off.
• Process payments: Complete your one-time purchase through Stripe.
• Send essential emails: Purchase confirmations, password resets, and important account notifications.
• Send marketing emails: Study tips, product updates, and promotional content (you can unsubscribe at any time).
• Improve the platform: Analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve content, features, and user experience.

• Evaluate guarantee eligibility: Verify completion of modules and simulation exams for our Pass Guarantee program.

3. AI Usage Disclosure

What you should know about the AI Tutor:

• Your questions and the AI responses are processed by Anthropic (Claude AI). Anthropic's privacy practices are governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• We do not use your AI Tutor conversations to train AI models.
• AI-generated responses are for study purposes only and should not be treated as professional electrical or legal advice.
• The AI Tutor may occasionally produce inaccurate information. Always verify critical information against the current NEC codebook.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate CertifyPro:

• Stripe — Payment processing. Stripe handles all payment data under their own privacy policy. We never see or store your full card details.
• Supabase — Database and authentication. Stores your account profile, study progress, and quiz data on secure, encrypted servers.
• Anthropic (Claude AI) — Powers the AI Tutor feature. Processes your study questions to generate responses.
• Mailchimp — Email marketing. If you subscribe to our email list, your name and email are stored in Mailchimp. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
• Vercel — Website hosting and serverless functions.

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data. We encourage you to review their policies.

5. Cookies & Tracking

CertifyPro uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

• Essential cookies: Required for authentication, keeping you logged in, and basic site functionality. These cannot be disabled.
• Analytics cookies: Help us understand how users interact with the platform so we can improve it. These collect aggregate, non-personally-identifiable data.
• Payment cookies: Set by Stripe during the checkout process to prevent fraud and process payments.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or retargeting pixels. We do not sell cookie data to advertisers.

Managing cookies: You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent parts of the platform from working properly.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides encrypted database storage. We implement the following security measures:

• All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
• Database access is restricted and protected by row-level security policies.
• Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment processor.
• We do not store passwords in plain text. Authentication is handled through secure, industry-standard methods.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data Sharing

We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: With the third-party services listed in Section 4, only as necessary to operate the platform.
• Legal requirements: If required by law, subpoena, court order, or governmental regulation.
• Business transfer: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
• With your consent: In any other situation, only with your explicit permission.

We retain your account data and study progress for as long as your account is active. This allows you to return and continue studying at any time.

• Study progress and quiz data: Retained until you request deletion.
• Payment records: Retained as required by tax and financial regulations (typically 7 years).
• Email marketing data: Retained until you unsubscribe, at which point your email is removed from active marketing lists.
• Support communications: Retained for up to 2 years for quality and training purposes.

10. Age Requirement

CertifyPro is a professional exam preparation service designed for adults preparing for the California C-10 Electrician License exam. Our service is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@getcertifypro.com.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:

• Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
• Notify you by email if the changes significantly affect how we handle your data.
