These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the CertifyPro website at getcertifypro.com and the CertifyPro exam prep platform (the "Service"), operated by CertifyPro ("we," "us," or "our").
Please read these Terms carefully before purchasing or using the Service.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using CertifyPro, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. The Service
CertifyPro is an online study platform designed to help you prepare for the California C-10 Electrical Contractor License Exam. The Service includes:
- 18 study modules covering NEC code topics tested on the C-10 exam.
- 225+ practice questions with detailed explanations.
- Timed simulation exams that mirror the real test format.
- An AI-powered Tutor that answers your NEC and exam-related questions.
- Progress tracking to monitor your study completion and quiz performance.
Important: CertifyPro is a study aid. We are not a licensed educational institution. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), Contractors State License Board (CSLB), PSI (the test administrator), or the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
3. Accounts & Eligibility
Age Requirement
You must be 18 years of age or older to use CertifyPro. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 18 years old.
Account Responsibility
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
- Notify us immediately at support@getcertifypro.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
One Account Per Person
Each purchase grants access to one individual. Accounts may not be shared with, transferred to, or used by anyone other than the account holder.
4. Payment & Pricing
Price: $95 USD — one-time payment.
No subscriptions. No recurring charges. No hidden fees. You pay once and get lifetime access to all current content.
- All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your credit card information.
- Payment is required before you can access the full platform. Some free content (such as sample quizzes) may be available without payment.
- Prices are listed in US dollars and may be subject to applicable sales tax based on your location.
- We reserve the right to change pricing at any time. Price changes will not affect existing purchases.
5. Refund Policy
30-Day Money-Back Guarantee — No conditions.
If you are not satisfied with CertifyPro for any reason, request a full refund within 30 days of your purchase date. No questions asked.
How to request a refund:
- Email support@getcertifypro.com with the subject line "Refund Request."
- Include the email address associated with your account.
- Refunds are processed through Stripe and typically appear on your statement within 5-10 business days.
After 30 days, refunds are generally not available except as described in Section 6 (Pass Guarantee) or as required by applicable law.
6. Pass Guarantee
We offer a Pass Guarantee for users who fully commit to the study program. If you do not pass the California C-10 exam, we will refund your purchase, subject to the following conditions:
Pass Guarantee Requirements (all must be met):
1. You must have completed at least 80% of all study modules (as tracked by the platform).
2. You must have scored 70% or higher on at least 3 full simulation exams on the platform.
3. You must provide proof that you sat for the official C-10 exam and did not pass (official score report or failure notice from PSI/CSLB).
4. Your refund request must be submitted within 60 days of your official exam date.
How to claim the Pass Guarantee:
- Email support@getcertifypro.com with the subject line "Pass Guarantee Claim."
- Include a copy of your official exam results showing a non-passing score.
- We will verify your study activity on the platform and process your refund within 14 business days.
The Pass Guarantee applies only to the official California C-10 Electrical Contractor exam administered by PSI on behalf of CSLB. It does not apply to practice tests, other state exams, or other license classifications.
7. AI Tutor Disclaimer
The AI Tutor is a study aid, not a licensed instructor or legal advisor.
The AI Tutor feature is powered by Claude, an AI model developed by Anthropic. Please be aware of the following:
- Not a substitute for the NEC codebook. The AI Tutor helps explain concepts, but you should always verify answers against the current National Electrical Code.
- May produce errors. AI-generated responses can occasionally contain inaccuracies, outdated information, or incomplete explanations. We are not liable for errors in AI-generated content.
- Not professional advice. AI Tutor responses do not constitute electrical engineering advice, legal advice, or official exam guidance.
- Your inputs are processed by a third party. Questions you ask the AI Tutor are sent to Anthropic's API. See our Privacy Policy for details.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Share or redistribute content. Do not copy, reproduce, distribute, or publicly display any CertifyPro content, including quiz questions, module text, or AI Tutor responses, without our written permission.
- Share your account. Do not share your login credentials or allow others to access the platform through your account.
- Scrape or automate. Do not use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access or extract content from the platform.
- Reverse engineer. Do not decompile, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the platform.
- Abuse the AI Tutor. Do not use the AI Tutor for purposes unrelated to C-10 exam preparation, or attempt to manipulate it into generating harmful, illegal, or inappropriate content.
- Misrepresent your identity. Do not create accounts with false information or impersonate another person.
- Interfere with the service. Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, or compromise the security of the platform.
Violation of these rules may result in immediate account termination without a refund.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on CertifyPro, including study modules, quiz questions, explanations, graphics, design, code, and the CertifyPro brand, is owned by CertifyPro or its licensors and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.
Your purchase grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the platform content for your own exam preparation. It does not transfer any ownership of the content to you.
References to the National Electrical Code (NEC) are made for educational purposes. The NEC is a registered trademark of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). CertifyPro is not affiliated with NFPA.
10. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
Specifically, we do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
- The content is completely accurate, current, or comprehensive.
- Using CertifyPro guarantees you will pass the C-10 exam (the Pass Guarantee in Section 6 is a refund policy, not a warranty of exam results).
- The AI Tutor will provide error-free responses.
You acknowledge that exam preparation outcomes depend on many factors beyond our control, including your prior knowledge, study habits, and the specific exam you receive.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CERTIFYPRO AND ITS OWNER, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE ($95 USD).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation of certain damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
12. Termination
By You
You may stop using the Service at any time. To delete your account, email support@getcertifypro.com.
By Us
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, particularly the Acceptable Use provisions in Section 8. If we terminate your account for a reason that is not your fault (for example, if we discontinue the Service), we will provide a pro-rated refund or full refund at our discretion.
If your account is terminated for a violation of these Terms, you are not entitled to a refund.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
Before filing any formal legal action, you agree to first attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting us at support@getcertifypro.com. We will try to resolve the issue within 30 days.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes:
- We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
- For significant changes, we will notify you by email.
Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms. If you disagree with the changes, stop using the Service and contact us for a refund if applicable.
